Mahboob Akhter

Mahboob's career is firmly focused toward the support of disadvantaged communities accessing mainstream training and employment opportunities. Currently coordinating the Work Experience Unit at the University of Derby, Mahboob is also Consultant to the Ethnic Minority Business Federation in the Midlands region.

Previous engagements have included managerial positions for Westminster City Council's Corporate Grants & Voluntary Sector; Westminster-European Social Fund Partnership; and East Staffs Race Equality Council - SRB Community CareerLine. He has also taught various degrees at GNVQ and GCSE Level aimed at adult education.

Instrumental in developing the training aspect of the Filmworks Trust projects Mahboob firmly believes 'everyone has the potential to be successful in whatever they want to develop.'
